The old Nero 5.5.xx is the best for this purpose. It will crossfade with the previous track at the 1/10th of a second increments(1.3, 2.5, 3.1 etc.) where the later Nero 6 series only can use whole numbers.(1.0, 2.0, 3.0 etc.) You can find the last updates for these on their Nero.com websites. You're on your own finding serial numbers for obsolete software. Hate to say it, but the latest Nero 7 is loaded with a bunch of apps, that most people will never use. EXPENSIVE! It's also rather buggy at this time. None of these will work with the new Vista OS. Feurio also has the option to eliminate the 2 second gaps. Even the old REAL JUKEBOX 2 had a crossfading feature. You don't need a "state of the art" system for downloading files here at all. Older computers and older software (you prefer to use)will be just fine. Installing Windows 98/2000 on a decent hard drive will do the job.

Been using Audacity for somewhat around one year now. Great freeware program. Comes in handy for all sorts of reasons. Good to see it promoted here.
